John Farr A qualified trainer and housing manager, John Farr leads SNU's work with tenants' groups. John Farr has pioneered work in Tenant Management, supporting residents' groups and negotiating with local authority landlords. He has also advised Government departments on revisions and improvements to the Tenant Management process. John Farr is developing SNU's interests in Co-housing. He has published on housing estate security and management. David Birley David Birley's varied career has included developing community safety initiatives at the Home Office and local recycling projects for Friends of the Earth. He leads SNU's environment work which is currently focused on developing effective recycling initiatives on social housing estates and in schools. He has published on community safety and waste recycling and is a qualified trainer. Affiliate consultants Steve Osborn Formerly a researcher at the Cambridge University Institute of Criminology and then at NACRO where he developed a pioneering programme of community safety initiatives on housing estates, Steve Osborn led SNU for twenty years until 2010 and is now an Affiliate Consultant. An expert in community safety he has also developed interests and skills in evaluating regeneration initiatives and in new forms of resident controlled housing estates. SNU works with a network of other affiliated consultants who are engaged where particular initiatives require additional appropriately qualified personnel.
